Silly Little Plaque

Well my momma once told me, “Life is good, you won’t be lonely”
I think we’re all a little lonely, I just want someone to hold me
I look around and wonder why we’re even here to live life and
Why is it so damn hard

A part of life is to die, yet we live in spite of time
How come when people go, we sit around and tend to go
Just a little bit crazy? Life and death’s a little hazy
In a daze say politely, to ourselves and loudly
“All in all, not bad at all, all in all, all not bad at all”
Why is it so damn hard

Go to school and learn the rules, if you’re good, you’re among the fools
Student loans will be a tether, pay them off if you live forever
Some people are so rich, why’d they ever want to fix this
Some people have nothing, but we tell them “Bling, bling, bling,”
I think there’s a disconnection, might need a new election
One thing I do know: a mantra and it goes:
All in all, not bad at all, all in all, not bad at all
Why is it so damn hard
Why is it so damn hard
Why is it so damn hard

Say it out loud to yourself, and then here’s how you can help:
Say it out loud to the poor just before you shut the door
To the people who are so sick and have no means to pay for it
To the bones in the war zones, from your Full House family homes
Say it to the people boxed, ignorant their doors are locked
They call it a tradition, can’t say “bad religion”
Even here in the land of plenty, all veneers and pageantry
Now everything’s politicized, call it out and get villainized
From the people on the left, while we’re sitting here all bereft
From the people on the right, missing what’s true and right
Oh, there I go again being utilitarian
Ok, I take it all back, silly me, just read the plaque:
All in all, not bad at all, all in all, not bad at all
All in all, not bad at all, all in all, not bad at all
All in all, not bad at all, all in all, not bad at all
Why is it so damn hard
