Lazy, lazy Sunday
Lazy, lazy Sunday
How I want you to last

By Friday night I was down in the dumps
Been a long, hard week and just for once
I want to leave Friday and feel completely relaxed
My eyes were stressed and my head was taxed
Busy Saturday, the sun came and went
Sometimes I wonder where my days are spent
On Saturday night, we hung with friends
And I started feeling pretty good again
So yeah, last night I had a drink or ten
The kitchen is littered with the fallen cans
I feel like garbage and my stomach stinks
A byproduct of the week and drinks
But I hop on the couch with my wife in tow
For a four-movie, still twenty to go
I think to myself there’s one thing I know
It’d be much better if we could stop the show
On a lazy, lazy Sunday
Lazy, lazy Sunday
How I want you to last

So many influencers telling me
There’s no separation between the days of the week
I need to live my life and love each day
Call me crazy, it’s easy to say
As they preach to me while they’re on the clock
Can’t put the phone down or the ads will stop
But mine’s face down on the ottoman
I have no urge to pick it up again
Maybe I will on a bathroom break
And share a post that I’m feeling great
On a lazy, lazy Sunday
Lazy, lazy Sunday
How I want you to last

So here we sit on opposite ends
Laughing to ourselves about a night with friends
Got the munchies now so I’ll raid the fridge
And heat some leftovers, but she already did
And fill our bellies as it rains outside
Got everything I need right here inside
We push play on the tv screen
And head to a place that we’ve never been
The world resumes everywhere outside
Try to pause forever here inside
On a lazy, lazy Sunday
Lazy, lazy Sunday
How I want you to last
