In My Defense

In my defense, I need money
Insurance and groceries too
It’s not like I really love it
It’s just something I have to do

But you know that it don’t
Pay the bills like it used to

And you know that they don’t
Really know how to relate

And you don’t really know
How they can be so full of hate

In my defense, I need money
Insurance and groceries too
It’s not like I had a choice
I wasn’t born with a rich man’s voice

So you vote and you hope
Things change someday soon

Though you know the money don’t
Give a sh*t about you

So you show and you vote
So things change someday soon

So you show and you vote
So things change someday soon
